Moez Doraid
Moez Doraid, PhD, is the Director, Coordination Division and Director, ad interim of the Division of Management and Administration of the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women). An Egyptian national, he has 25 years of experience with the UN, across various agencies and countries. Prior to joining UN Women, he held various positions, including as Deputy Executive Director of UNIFEM, UN Resident Coordinator/UNDP Resident Representative in Kuwait, UN Humanitarian Coordinator and Resident Coordinator, a.i. in Maldives, where he helped bring attention to the humanitarian crises following the tsunami in 2004. He was also Chief of the United Nations Development Programme’s Regional Resource Facility for Arab States, the Assistant Resident Representative in UNDP Sudan and a co-author of several global and Arab Human Development Reports.

Before joining UNDP, Dr Doraid was a diplomat with the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has a B.A. in Economics from the American University in Cairo, a Master’s degree in Public Administration focusing on economic development from Harvard University and a PhD from the Lebanese University.
